Cover of the Day: The Water Wars

The Water Wars by Cameron Stracher

I've always liked this cover, but when it comes down to defining why in one word, I come up with sharp. I just love when a picture captures something the human eye would never be able to see on its own, and the water here is a perfect example of that.

The water shot and the face close-up really gives it a dramatic feel: I think even the fonts here have the same feeling about them. Altogether, I think the designer did a fabulous job of pulling all the aspects together.

Your thoughts?

  1. Good morning, ladies. I trust you are enjoying your Sunday. This cover caught my eye (sorry, no pun intended) as it did yours, for the crystal clarity of the model, and the water droplets suspended in air. The title got my attention as well, as back in the 1980s I designed a post-apocalyptic tactic battle game called WATERWARS. Then video games came along and killed that.

The point is, there have been a number of titles I would have commented on, but I have always taken a moment on my lunch break at work to look at your site, and apparently the IT security there blocks the ability to read or make comments. Now I get it; this is home only-site, which puts in the same category as porn, but that's a tale for another day! Anyway, to sort of make amends, I'm featuring your work as my Site of the Week over at the Hideout. Drop by and see what I'm up to if you get a chance. And keep up the fine work; this is a bit different from the run of the mill book site...
