If He Had Been With Me by Laura Nowlin
The chalk-like font is what stole my heart with this cover! I only wish it had been used on the authors name as well.
Another thing I really like are the small pops of color with this otherwise neutral colored scene. The girls red skirt and green bracelet help direct our eye around the image from the top left corner, out to the girls outstretched palms, down to the little water droplets in the puddle.
What do you think?
Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing about making the author's name in the chalk font when I was looking at the cover. I think they should switch the author's font with the "a novel" font, because then the author's name would be in the chalk font, but "a novel", which isn't really part of the title, would have looked different and would have made sure it didn't look like too much of one font on the cover.
ReplyDeleteBut my little cover critique aside, I adore it and completely agree with you! Beautiful cover!
Good point! If the authors name where in chalk but "a novel" was in the other font it would help to break it up and not look like one giant title. OR... maybe if the "a novel" part was just removed all together, because it's not really necessary.
DeleteOh, I hadn't even thought about doing that! That's a great idea—and bonus, it lets you see more of that gorgeous picture!
DeleteProbably right. I love the cover and the color blend is amazing!
ReplyDeleteJust like you, Cheyenne and Amanda, I believe the "a novel" should be deleted.
A tagline could be much more fun.
otherwise, this cover is breathtaking!
I really like this cover I think it makes it look like a really emotional story.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a really emotional story too! I'm glad that comes across in the cover =) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteLike everybody else I like the cover ! It seems that I will need a tone of tissues to read this one next year...
