The Dead and Buried by Kim Harrington
For some reason I find myself drawn to all the creepy YA covers, which is weird since I'm a complete scaredy cat and wouldn't read most of them.
Anyway, this cover is downright horror movie-ish. The angle the picture was taken from is as if we are at the bottom of the staircase looking up, which makes me feel trapped. Maybe that was the intention?
My favorite thing about it however, is the contrast between dark and light. The stairs, the walls, the girl's silhouette, everything is dark and dismal but then there is the bright light shining above the girls head and the title looks as if it were glowing too.
