Under the Mesquite by Guadalupe Garcia McCall
This cover was really off the beaten path—in my months in the YA book blogosphere, I've never run across it before. In my opinion, this cover deserves way more recognition than it has. The coloring and natural looks are beautiful, and there are all these intricate details fitted into the design like the map growing up from the ground and, if you look carefully, the words scrolled across the top half of the cover. And that title. I really, really adore that font. All in all, it was a stunning find for the day.
