Cover of the Day: The Way We Fall

The Way We Fall by Megan Crewe

Can I just say how much I love what's been done here? Using a single color as a layer over the background image is a great idea, and the concept came to life beautifully. It's not every day that you see a cover where the text is the picture, not the background. I even like the small details of this cover, like the way the author's name is positioned. It's all very cool.

Your thoughts?

  1. The details you've mentioned are pretty cool, if you really look at it, but for me, the super-bright yellow is too loud. I probably wouldn't have taken enough time to find those details if you hadn't highlighted this cover here.

    1. I would think that the purpose of the color was to get your attention out of a whole row of book covers, but I think using a strategy like that one will also have a negative aspect: some people, like yourself, will find the color too loud and won't look at it because of that. It all just comes down to the fact that different people have different opinions. Different strokes for different folks, right?

      Thanks for your thoughts!
